Institut Ramon Llull Is promoting a residence on screenwriting for fictional feature films. This initiative is supported by the Catalan Film Academy, Associated Screenwriters of Catalonia (GAC) and the collaboration of Catalan Films (ICEC).

After the first residential course held in 2021, we continue to support initiatives which help build strong audiovisual projects that can be completed and produced in the medium term in Catalonia. With this objective, this year the Ramon Llull Institute is again offering screenwriters and creators the chance to develop the sequenced structure of their project in a fully immersive twelve-day programme.

A maximum of ten screenwriters (with a limit of nine projects) will be chosen to take part in this residential course. In addition to board and food, the programme provides individual mentoring on each project, group sessions involving all participants and master classes, in a combination of online and in-person formats. They will then have the opportunity to present the projects to producers who are currently active in Catalonia, provided that the project isn’t already backed by a production company and that it has reached the stage in which looking for partners would make sense.

The aim of this initiative is to contribute to the development of a part of the creative process of writing film scripts in the best possible conditions, facilitating research, the exchange of knowledge and the mentoring of selected experts who guarantee the excellence of writing, research and creation.

The residency will take place at Faberllull Olot from 16 to 27 May 2022.
