Neva Micheva brings the profession of translation closer to the students of Bosc de la Coma high school
Neva Micheva (Sofia, Bulgaria) posed several questions and answers concerning translation to first and second year upper high school students at Bosc de la Coma high school in Olot. With the desire to familiarise them with her profession, Neva emphasised the importance of errors in translation, since making mistakes and correcting them is a way of learning, hence she encouraged them not to be afraid of making mistakes and to give translation a go.
The Bulgarian translator also outlined the specific difficulties involved in translating the various literary genres. For example, she explained that for her, poetry is the most complicated genre to adapt since you don't have all the context that the poet had when writing the verses.
Neva Micheva translates prose and drama from Italian, Spanish, Catalan (and sometimes Russian or English) into Bulgarian. She holds a master's degree in Italian Philology and a master's degree in Journalism.
