Jay McKenzie's Writing Class for Official Language School Students

Writer Jay McKenzie (Australia/South Korea) has delivered a writing master class for students studying English at the Official Language School of Olot. The talk, in English, focused on flash fiction, exploring places to look for inspiration, seeking ways to build stories from a small starting point and giving participants time and directions to create a flash piece.

Jay McKenzie is the author of Mim and Wiggy's Grand Adventure. Awards she has won include the Exeter Story Prize and the Henshaw Prize, among others. Her next novel, How to Lose the Lottery, will be published by Harper Fiction in spring 2026. She will be at Faberllull Olot to work on her next, as-yet-untitled novel, until 24 November.
