Workshop by Lena Kholkina and Vlada Krasilnikova For Olot School of Art Students
Russian artists Lena Kholkina and Vlada Krasilnikova led a workshop for photography and audiovisual creation students at the Olot School of Art. Titled My Imaginary Garden, the event was designed as an experimental laboratory to craft images from all kinds of objects that the pair collected during their stay at Faberllull. From there, students were encouraged to make combinations with the pieces and to photograph them using different creative techniques, both analogue — in the case of paintings — and digital — in the case of phone-based apps — to continue working on the images.
The workshop started today and will continue tomorrow morning. The final images can be either abstract or realistic, but will have undergone many transformations.
Lena Kholkina and Vlada Krasilnikova are visual artists from Moscow who work with photography, video, objects, movement and books. Their themes are non-existent worlds, the reinvention of things, escaping from everyday life, and dreams, among others.
