Carme Martí proposes recovering family memory in a talk in Olot
Giving grandchildren an account of a personal experience. The writer Carme Martí (Montblanc) proposed such a gift to the audience of her talk Preserving Memory, held this Thursday at the DinàmiG function room in Olot. Organised in collaboration with the Alba Women's Association, Martí reviewed how various objects acted as the catalyst to start the different books they have published. The first gift they received, the gestures of their grandmother or a certain photograph, serve as a starting point to let the memories flow.
In her talk, Carme Martí stressed the fact that if these family memories are not preserved, in 50 years' time they will have disappeared, and with them the memory of a place will have faded. For this reason, she asked the audience to think about what memory they would like to pass on to their children and grandchildren.
Carme Martí is the author of several books such as Un cel de plom. La vida de Neus Català, El camí de les aigües, Els núvols and also non-fictional works such as Història d'una cuinera. Memòries de Maria Badia and Cròniques rurals.
