Illustrator Mar Guixé (Berga) gave a talk for students at Escola d’Art d’Olot. Based on her professional experience, she gave the young people 50 tips for surviving in this trade. As Guixé explains, she wanted to share things she would have liked to know when she had just finished her studies and was starting out in the world of illustration.

With practical examples such as “always save alternate versions of your illustrations”, “take a deep breath before answering a difficult email” and “quote the price the finished piece is worth”, Guixé shared related situations she has experienced over the course of her career.

Mar Guixé has been drawing as long as she can remember. She is one of the artists selected for the illustration residency to work with international publishers. She came to Faberllull to work with French publishers Père Fouettard on a project that focuses on social justice, climate issues related to water and birds.
