German researcher and technology designer Jens Mönig, currently undertaking a residency at Faberllull, was the featured guest speaker at the Big Questions in Science series' May edition. In the auditorium of Olot's Espai Cràter venue, Mönig added his two cents' worth to the issue of whether generative intelligence can be created to understand it.

He said there are large enterprises creating generative AI algorithms for use as a tool by millions of consumers. The attendees were given a simple way to understand how a small generative intelligence system is created, as Mönig explained AI from the creator's viewpoint.

Big Questions in Science is a series of conferences organised by the Consortium for the Environment and Public Health (SIGMA), Espai Cràter and the Olot Province Historical Studies Association (PEHOC). The aim is to address current scientific and technological topics suitable for everyone.

Jens Mönig is a researcher at SAP and creator of interactive programming environments. He was at Faberllull Olot from 7 to 14 May, taking part in the residential programme on Educational Programming and Robotics.
