Panel discussion with translators of Nordic languages at University of Barcelona

Translators Sara Høyrup, Maria Rossich, Ellinor Broman, Elena Martí Segarra and Diana Coromines took part in a panel discussion moderated by Carolina Moreno this morning at the University of Barcelona Faculty of Philology. The translators shared their experience and the exercises and texts they worked on during the Faberllull residency. They also read poems in Danish, Swedish and Catalan.

The event continued with a conversation between author Toni Sala and editor Mònica Batet on the ties between Nordic and Catalan literature. Afterwards, Joan de Sola, director of the Institut Ramon Llull Literature Department, took the stage.

These activities at the University of Barcelona brought to an end the seminar on translating Nordic languages held this week at Faberllull. From Monday, several translators who work from Catalan to Swedish and Danish, and vice versa, met to work on various texts and reflect on their profession.
