Marta Grau takes part in scriptwriting lab at Ull Nu festival in Andorra
Marta Grau is one of the tutors for the second annual Ull Nu Lab, a screenwriting laboratory for short films in Catalan, organised by Ull Nu festival. For the Ull Nu Lab, candidates send in their projects in development and a professional committee picks eight of them. From last Thursday to Sunday, screenwriters and directors were invited to Andorra to do classes and workshops with industry professionals, focusing on the participants’ projects.
The goal is for the finalists to take advantage of these work sessions to improve on the versions they submitted with feedback from the industry professionals. At the end of the Lab, the professors chose one of the projects to win a cash prize so they can produce the short film.
Grau gave a workshop on Friday and also discussed the projects individually with the finalists. On Saturday, the screenwriter gave a talk with filmmaker Alejandro Marín, open to the Andorran public. The Ull Nu festival came to a close on Sunday with the awards ceremony.
Marta Grau is a screenwriter and author who is at Faber Andorra these days for an individual residency through 21 May. She is taking advantage of her stay to write her fifth novel, called ‘La muntanya més alta no és a l’Himàlaia’.
