Immersive media such as virtual reality (VR) and 360 videos
Immersive media such as virtual reality (VR) and 360 videos have passed from science fiction to reality. All these developments in VR are arriving at a time when disabilities and accessibility are also becoming more conspicuous topics of conversation. This is the scenario for the workshop carried out by the pre-doctoral researcher Marta Brescia Zapata, a member of the TransMedia Catalonia research team at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. During the activity, participants had the opportunity to learn about immersive environments and explore the possibilities of 360º videos. Besides, the concept of creative subtitles has been introduced, and examples have been given on how to insert them into 360º videos to ensure that immersive content can be accessible for all users. The activity concluded with a discussion about this new way of generating audiovisual content. This workshop has been created under Faberllull and TRACTION project. TRACTION is a European project funded under the H2020 programme with grant agreement no. 870610.
