Saliha Nilüfer reading at the Marià Vayreda library in Olot
Writer and translator Saliha Nilüfer (Istanbul, Turkey) was the featured reader at this Tuesday's Story Time in the children's room of the Marià Vayreda Library in Olot. In an activity aimed at kids aged five and over, Nilüfer told the story of Minu, a girl who lives on a distant planet and has an adventure with her friends, a green cat called Gudi, her grandmother Pepa and her pal Boris. Together they go to an abandoned lighthouse where they collect some seeds and plant them in their city, which has been very arid for a long time.
Saliha Nilüfer is a poet, translator and writer. She has published four novels for young readers. In recent years, her writing has focused mainly on topics such as saving nature, the future of the planet, recycling and a zero-waste lifestyle. The story she told is the adaptation of one of her tales. She is currently to be found at Faberllull, writing her future novel.
