Lori Kozlowski panel discussion with young people from Pegàs de Foc
Author Lori Kozlowski (Los Angeles, USA) took part in a panel discussion on how to explain our ties to the land in the context of the climate emergency. The conversation took place on Friday at Núria Social in Olot with young people from the Pegàs de Foc group.
During the conversation, they talked about how art can help better explain climate change and new narratives to approach the issue. They also discussed concepts related to the social and solidarity economy, intersectionality, natural rights, young people's concerns and the consequences of the climate emergency.
Kozlowski works in literature, journalism, animation and digital media. She is at Faberllull to write a collection of short stories on how the climate-change crisis has affected and will continue to affect teens, fishers, local economies and animals large and small.
Pegàs de Foc is a group of young people from the Garrotxa and Ripollès areas who are interested in culture’s power to enact change. They have an intersectional view on struggles like feminism, anti-racism, anti-fascism, LGBTQI+ rights, defence of the land, ecology, eco-anxiety, tourism, housing, mobility, and cultural, economic or religious backgrounds, among others.
