In today's conversation, Antonio Morcillo López, long-time playwright, explained to the residents the motivations that led him to write his war-themed plays. Among other aspects, he has exposed the need to write about war in an abstract way, the importance of having a certain perspective to approach it and the interest in dealing with topics considered taboo and offering a plural perspective. He has particularly commented on Los carniceros [The Butchers] and Al hoyo [Into the Pit], two pieces that deal with war in a contrasting way: the first without reference to any particular war conflict; the second, about the Spanish Civil War and the mass graves that still remain to be discovered. Al hoyo, which had been read by the residents, has served to start a debate on the deficits of historical memory in Spain, and on the forms of representation, among other topics
