A photo walk with Simon Buckley

A photo walk with Simon Buckley

On the evening of June 7, there was a photo walk with Simon Buckley.

The participants explored the city of Olot on a twilight photo walk guided by Simon Buckley. For approximately 90 minutes, the artist has guided them to connect with another look at the city through the singularity of its light during the darkness of the night. How is Olot with the absence of people? What perspective does streetlight light offer? And the stars? The city at night leads us to experience new sensations that connect with that more instinctive part.

"The night, the darkness, are scary, but they also contain magic"

'Twilight is a moment of sensory sensitivity. The inner animal comes alive. The sounds are enhanced, the atmosphere changes, our eyes constantly scan the shadows. I often think, when I leave before first light, that I have stepped on the back of a wardrobe, that the city is enchanted and anything is possible. The night, the darkness, brings fear but also magic. People are just ghosts, shadows. If I am in a landscape, such as a forest, the sensory experience is enhanced even more. There are no lanterns to guide you, and it is possible to be transported to your childhood self, when the darkness is instead of myths and monsters, of fairy tales that rarely end well.'
