With the aim of taking advantage of the increase in translations of Catalan authors into Spanish by independent Latin American publishers and to promote the internationalization of our literature beyond the Spanish framework, the Institut Ramon Llull has organized a seminar on translation and reflection on all these issues. Coordinated by Andrés Ehrenhaus, one of the objectives of this seminar is to discuss together and try to establish strategies to approach Latin American readers in a normal way. The other, perhaps more indirect, is to contribute to the autonomy and strengthening of the American varieties of Spanish and, incidentally, to open the debate on some post-colonial issues, proposing a new paradigm of translation and reception fully rooted in the linguistic and cultural diversity of local realities.
