Panel “City and Energy: towards an inclusive energy transition”
Laia Sánchez has participated in the last activity of the Faberllull residency within the Biennial of Thought in Palma, a panel with Carles Oliver, technical director of IBAVI, and Pau de Vílchez, president of the Expert Committee for Climate Change in the Balearic Islands.
The expert in citizen laboratories has advocated for including the citizenship in innovation processes, given that citizens know well the reality of where they live. She has also presented the participation ladder, where the different stages for these kind of projects are depicted.
Laia Sánchez has explained the need to have a city structure that is linked to neighbourhoods, schools and local organisations, with roots throughout the city in order to make it grow and be more intelligent in the collective sphere.
The panel also tackled the importance of climate change and the need to find alternative construction models using local materials, breaking with the capitalist production model.
