Ernesto Barraza explained the way of understanding political violence in Peru, which is inextricably linked to the "internal war" between 1980 and 2000, and has outlined the themes of the plays dealing with this recent period by authors such as Alfonso Santistevan, the Yuyachkani group, Mariana de Althaus, Eduardo de Andrianzén, Héctor Gálvez and Luis Alberto León, among others.
