Faber hosted for a month professionals of dance field: artists, dancers, choreographers, dance and theater critics.

The second residency period in 2017 will be related to dance and to other projects close to this art, regardless of the professional field or discipline they come from.

Thus, Faber is now open to all kinds of proposals that may interact with the dance company in residence, Colectivo Lamajara and their project Dispositivo LABranza.

Given that the dancers of Colectivo Lamajara are based in Spain, and that Faber aims at fostering exchanges between national and international residents, we are looking for candidates that live abroad and that have a project related to dance and to the activities that will take place in Sismògraf Dance Festival.

Colectivo Lamajara is an organization of artists who share a concern about body language and its possibilities of expression. It is formed by emerging artists, dancers and collaborators from other artistic disciplines. Lamajara organizes its work cooperatively, promoting dialogue and consensus toward a common methodology. The main objective is to support freedom of artistic expression, assisting in the production of free and eclectic creations.

The project Dispositivo Labranza combines professional and social dance, and it is an intergenerational proposal. The project is based on the comparison between farmer and artist to see the similarities. Dispositivo Labranza searches for the transformations that occur in pairs: farmer-field and dancer body, in that the first (farmer and dancer) transform the second (field and body), as well as the whole environment involved.
