The Vivancos Quartet and the Defilló Trio performed a chamber music concert at the Olot School of Music on Thursday. The two groups premiered the pieces by composer Fabià Santcovsky they had been rehearsing at the Faberllull residency all week. They also performed other compositions from their usual repertoire.

The concert featured comments from Santcovsky, who put the pieces in context so the audience could appreciate the different nuances he wanted to give to the two contemporary creations.

The Vivancos Quartet is made up of Jordi Prim (violin), Alexis Garita (violin), Estela Megías (viola) and Joaquim Tejedor (cello). The group formed in 2019 at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya under the tutelage of the Casals Quartet. The Defilló Trio is a piano trio born in Barcelona within the academic environment of the ESMUC and comprising Martina Armengol (cello), Guillem Armengol (violin) and Miquel Gusi (piano).
