The residents selected for the Faberllull illustration residency took part in several training sessions this Friday. The morning kicked off with a storyboard workshop led by Carles Sala i Vila. Sala shared several tips to come up with, develop and structure picture books for kids.

Then, Paula Esparraguera gave a talk on how the publishing sector works and internationalising portfolios. She also discussed topics like licensing rights, standard contracts and the role agents play. Esparreguera is part of the team at Ute Körner literary agency.

Both sessions focused on interests the illustrators shared when discussing the topics they would like to cover during the residency. After the talks, the participants continued the individual projects they will be working on at Faberllull through 11 October.
