Seminar by Robert Mizzi on LGBTQ+ inclusion in educational centres

Canadian researcher Robert Mizzi delivered a seminar for students of the Bachelor of Education Sciences degree at the University of Andorra presenting a number of inclusive practices for LGBTQ+ students. During the seminar, he explained that the queer community is more likely to suffer emotional distress and situations of harassment, and highlighted the importance of proactive and aware teachers to prevent and combat this discrimination. He also shared strategies and resources to offer support, advice and safe spaces within educational centres.

Robert Mizzi is a research and full professor with the Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba (Canada). He will be staying at Faber Andorra until 18 May, writing an academic article posited on research around LGBTQ+ festivals in small communities and analysing the queer community’s lived experiences in Andorra.
