Robolot fills with talks by Faberllull residents
The robotics residents took part in Robolot. This Saturday, the scientists and educators doing residencies at Faberllull these days attended an event at Sala El Torín in Olot, moderating various debates and activities.
Jens Mönig, Andrea Mayr-Stalder and Joan Guillén spoke about Snap!, a blocks-based graphic programming tool created at the University of California at Berkeley. It is easy to use and is meant for developing games, animations and multimedia creations. It is designed for use in schools and adapts to different levels.
Then it was time to hear about Microblocks, a free blocks programming language that combines physical computing and autonomous operation, explained by John Maloney, Bernat Romagosa and Josep Ferràndiz. Later, Juanjo López and Toni Moreno spoke about Arduinoblocks, a tool that makes programming easy. The morning session finished off with a presentation of the STEAMmakers fairs and Robolot 23-24 projects, featuring Cati Quintana and Toni Moreno.
Robolot continued in the afternoon with eight schools sharing their teaching experiences. The session on Saturday was meant especially for teachers at all levels interested in teaching programming and robotics. They shared new resources, tools and lines of work.
