Faber Residency connected me to Marina and Xavi, who live in Olot and have a beautiful and professional recording studio with a grand piano. They were so warm and inviting. The residency also scheduled daily taxis for me so it was not too stressful for me. Harmonia School’s director Jori was also very sweet and welcoming. He gave me a tour of the school and told me a story about Alicia de Larrocha. The piano recital and artist talk felt like a dinner party with close friends. Good amount of people showed up although it was raining a lot. Marina was kind enough to translate my English to Catalan. I was so touched by the power of live music after spending an entire year without the audience due to covid. I want to thank Faber Residency and Marina for this heartwarming experience in Olot, Catalonia.
