All The Days We Don’t Revolt

All The Days We Don’t Revolt

Agnes Török performed poems from their upcoming poetry collection All The Days We Don’t Revolt (release date May 2020), about queer resistance and community care. They also read from their previous two English language poetry books, mentioned their Swedish language books and talked about the power of writing in a language other than your mother tongue. The core theme of the event was hope and resistance, with poems touching on art, academia and activism.

In the lead-up to the event, the students had been encouraged to write poems in English, and after Agnes’ reading, students were welcomed onto stage to read their own poetry. It was a night of lots of laughter, and after the readings many people came up to talk, have a snack or ask for a hug. The students who read their poems will be receiving free copies of Agnes’ books for Sant Jordi. The school will also receive copies for the student library.
