Anna Irina Russell and Joan Rotger have introduced a range of interactive activities for members of the Olot Senior Citizens’ Association, centred on the concepts of play and folding. The goal of the workshop, held this Tuesday afternoon at the Casal Cívic in Olot, was to create a collaborative piece that blends poetry with textile crafts, using playful methods. Participants did not need any previous experience in either poetry or sewing to join.

Anna Irina Russell (Barcelona) is a visual artist, while Joan Rotger (Barcelona) is a poet, musician and engineer. They will be in residence at Faberllull Olot until 28 October, working on a collaborative project that compares play and the fold as examples of rifts in reality and, therefore, places with the possibility of taking new shapes. Gathering, folding, sliding and overlapping will be some of the movements that will serve to explore the limits of this relationship with play.
