Professor Kirsten Ostherr discusses several of the digital health technologies that have been deployed to help address human needs of health and safety during the pandemic, including telehealth and digital contact tracing. She has explored why the technoscientific framing of the pandemic failed by neglecting issues of trust and human connection as integral to practices of care, and she has considered alternative methods, based in translational humanities.
