Exchange of experiences at Marià Vayreda library in Olot

Friday morning I shared experiences, practices and "fears" in the COVID19 era with Judit Badia, director of the Olot-Marià Vayreda Library.

When I visit other libraries I always like to be receptive, ready to be surprised and above all to leave aside this "damned" centrality of Barcelona, which often characterises us. It is essential to be able to enter libraries with a clean look, without judging, without comparing, with a desire to share and learn.

With Judit we were able to talk about how difficult it is to manage a public facility, which is so loved by its users, and not so valued by the city councils, provincial councils..., especially when it comes to investments and improvements. Could it be because it is a facility that does not provide economic benefits? But what about the stories that happen inside the libraries? All of us professionals who work here are sure that life inside libraries is much more valuable.
