Sharing poetry in English at the Interlingua school, with Eleanor Standford
On 23 November, I visited an English class at Interlingua language school. I shared one of my poems with the class. We read it aloud together and discussed the unfamiliar vocabulary and grammar. I also played the traditional American song that had inspired the poem, and we discussed the meaning of the lyrics. The students had prepared some questions, and we also had a more general discussion comparing daily life and culture in the U.S. (Philadelphia specifically, where I’m from) and Catalunya.
