ALICIA LUÑO LAGUÉNS
Multidisciplinary Artist
Andorra la Vella

Bio

Multidisciplinary artist who initially worked in drawing, evolved into painting with an impressionistic tendency, which often moves away from the figure in favor of explosive colors and vigorous brushstrokes. Combining painting and cultural management, the artist Alicia Luño believes in cultural understanding as a necessary issue to expand the worldview of oneself and society. For this reason, the artist considers themes that narrate both personal concerns and those of the environment that is being transformed. Informalist and expressionist, without neglecting a "kitsch" point that causes heterogeneous perspectives in the visitor.

Project

During the residency I would work on two projects. On the one hand, I would work on the line of Research and knowledge of new perspectives in the design of cooperation cultural projects.

In this sense, the search for the existence of international networks that can allow a greater exchange of experiences and information, to get closer to contemporary artistic phenomena. The research process would culminate with the creation of a plastic work.

On the other hand, the project I propose called "illustration of stories and tales. natural environment and personal research", follows a line related to the recovery of self-confidence and inspiration with the natural environment. The starting point of the project is the formation over the years of an "internal language", which could be beneficial or harmful to our life, depending on its content and which has led us to a creative and self confidence.

"It has been an unforgettable experience that not only enriched my artistic work, but also provided a unique space to explore, learn and connect. The fantastic opportunity for cultural and personal exchange with other artists was the unexpected icing on the cake and contributed significantly to the overall richness of my experience. The topics we discussed during my stay at FaberLlull in Olot gave me much food for thought, and learning about cultural and artistic networks as an expression of new cooperation structures was a fascinating subject, as was working on illustrating stories and tales inspired by the magnificent surroundings of La Garrotxa and its forests.

I would like to emphasise the commitment and support of the whole organisation, and especially that of Pepa Pasamón, who has been at the heart of the whole process.

In short, I am sincerely grateful for all the support, hospitality and inspiration I have received during the FaberLlull residency. I am deeply grateful for this unique opportunity and I hope to return one day."
