Scriptwriter, director and producer

Vicent Monsonís (Monso) has a degree in Information Sciences, a postgraduate degree in Cultural Policies and European Cultural Relations and a specialist in fiction screenplay. He worked as a TV scriptwriter between 1989 and 1996 in Valencia and Madrid and since 1998 he has been working as a scriptwriter, director and producer of his own projects with the companies Terra a la Vista and Stanbrook. Vicent Monsonís has made nine fiction feature films for cinema and TV, two long documentaries and three animated series. Monso has always been very belligerent in defense of Culture in the Valencian Country. He actively participated in the Committee for the Monitoring of Cultural Diversity which intervened in the analysis and drafting of several European initiatives to support cinematography. Currently, he continues to produce film, TV and musical shows with a distinctly Valencian perspective.

Imagine, from text to screen. Imagining is defined as "forming a mental picture of something". In the audiovisual writing process, imagination is paramount because the screenwriter is "seeing" the film in his head that he must translate into words so that others can then transfer it to the cinematographic language of lights, shadows and sounds. Within the phases of audiovisual writing, the artefact that facilitates the transition between the written script and the staging, which is the story-board, is of particular interest. I will concentrate on visualizing the script of the feature film THE INVASION OF THE BARBARIANS, which is already in production, in order to amend it and transfer it to images by creating the story board that will be essential for in its filming. Once the film is finished, I will be able to present it again to the Olot audience and to the participants of future residencies.
