Ageing (residence online)
From Monday, 18 January 2021 to Friday, 29 January 2021
Our life expectancy has significantly increased in recent years. The progressive decrease in mortality and dropping fertility rates are inverting the population pyramids.
At faberllull Olot we want to talk about this and we wonder what this longevity revolution will mean. Will average life expectancy continue to rise? How will this global demographic shift affect each aspect of individual, community, national and international life? What consequences will it have (social, economic, political, cultural, psychological and spiritual)? Are we moving towards active ageing? How will older adults participate individually and collectively in social, economic, cultural, spiritual and civic aspects of life from now on? How will they participate not only in the capacity of being physically in the workplace or as part of the workforce?
At faberllull Olot, we want to reflect on empowering seniors in the biological, psychological and social aspects that affect them. And we want to do so while looking at the changes inherent in ageing, environmental and psychosocial risks, and preventive measures that can be applied. This is why we’re calling all specialists in ageing: demographers, physicians, geographers, social care workers, etc. and researchers working in this field. The projects must fall under in the lines of work and thought discussed above.
This residence will be done online.
The stay will be at faberllull Olot from 18 to 29 January 2021.
