Andorra and Poland: far and near

Andorra and Poland: far and near

The activities that I did during my stay in Andorra kept showing me that the two countries are closer than I imagined. In the Comic Museum, where I donated some Polish comics, I received in return a copy of a Spanish comic book based on Quo vadis?, a novel by Polish author Henryk Sienkiewicz, which won a Nobel Prize in Literature in 1905. At the altar of the historic Sanctuary of Merixell, I saw a painting, Jesus, I trust in you, designed following the instructions of Saint Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun, while the collection of Bibles in the Sanctuary includes a copy translated into Esperanto, the language invented by Ludwik Zamenhof, a Polish Jew from the city of Białystok. All of this encourages me to look for other areas where Andorran and Polish cultures could – through my small contribution – get even closer to each other.
