Bio

Cristina Delgado-García (Scotland) is a professor of theatre and performance at the University of Glasgow, where she coordinates the master's in theatre writing and dramaturgy and the master's in theatre studies. Her research focuses on British theatre since 1990, contemporary left-wing playwriting, participatory and socially engaged theatre and theatre's contribution to political and philosophical thought.

Dr Delgado-García is the author of the book Rethinking Character in Contemporary British Theatre: Aesthetics, Politics, Subjectivity (2015) and joint editor of the volume Affects in 21st-Century British Theatre: Exploring Feeling on Page and Stage. She is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Contemporary Drama in English and of the series Playwriting and the Contemporary: Critical Collaborations, published through Liverpool University Press. She was coordinator of the Political Performances Working Group of the International Federation for Theatre Research (2018-2022). Her doctoral thesis received the CDE 2013 award.
