Bio

Some of Rebecca Simpson's translations of Mercè Rodoreda's poetry have appeared in the following magazines: in the UK, Modern Poetry in Translation and Shearsman Magazine and, in the US, the New England Review and AGNI. This work has been supported by the Translators' Programme of the Institut Ramon Llull.

She is also a writer (initiator and librettist for the opera Juana, with music by Enric Palomar, for example, and the opera-oratorio Sky Disc, with music by Ramon Humet), voice actress and English language teacher. Rebecca was born and educated in England and has lived in Barcelona since 1986.
