Bio

Silvia Espín holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), studied Series Screenwriting at Showrunners BCN and is part of the first cohort of the Showrunners Escac-Mediaset master’s programme. An award-winning screenwriter, Silvia is known for her work on adolescent series such as Huellas (finalist at the FanPitch International at the Sitges Festival, Best Series at VLC Pitch, Finalist at the Academy of Catalan Cinema Residency), Ariadna y las posibilidades muertas (Barcelona Crea Scholarship) and the short film Inseparables (Best Screenplay at IbizaCineFest and Emergente Cine Lab!, currently in pre-production with The Otherside).

Silvia has worked as an analyst at Mediaset and as a screenwriter, development producer and analyst on various fiction projects at Youplanet Pictures. She co-wrote, among other projects, the series ¡Martita! (2023), which was nominated for the Rose d’Or for Best Short-Form Series. Currently, she is involved in several development projects for Catalan production companies. She also teaches Screenwriting at ESCAC and is producing the horror play Maleït mirall, co-written with Adri de la Llave, which will be staged at Teatre Tantaranana in the 24–25 season. Silvia was one of the founders of the group “Dones, terror i fantàstic” within Dones Visuals and is now co-organising the “Pro de Terror Molins” conferences.

Project

At Faberllull, she will be working on the script for the series No hi ha res, co-written with Adri de la Llave.
