Bio

Luz Ruciello holds a degree in Image and Sound Design from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). Her film A Concrete Cinema (2017) was selected for over 30 international festivals. It premièred in the USA at the 34th Miami Film Festival and received the Audience Award at the Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam – 11th edition (AFFR). It was the opening film at the 21st Lima International Film Festival in Peru.

Her short films Seis horas así (2001), Madreselva (2015), La Creciente (2016) – co-directed with Lluís Miras Vega – and Ezlekua (2020) – co-directed with Marta Romero – have been selected and awarded at various international festivals.

Project

At Faberllull, she will be writing the script for Pista de ball together with Marta Romero. The protagonist is Martina (28), who lives life intensely, balancing her medical treatment with partying and drugs. She is the leader of a music band with her friends, and they are about to go on tour. Her mother, Luisa (62), disapproves of anything that doesn’t prioritise her health. Her latest medical reports force her back into the hospital, where she meets her roommate, Silvi (78). The time they spend together becomes a prelude to Pista de ball, a miniature representation of life.
