Collective residencies / Creative retreat for illustrators to cooperate with International publishers - 2024 / Olot
EULÀLIA MIRÓ BATLLE
From Tuesday, 1 October 2024 to Friday, 11 October 2024
Bio
Eulàlia Miró loves writing and telling short stories through illustrations. She lives and works in Barcelona in the neighbourhood of Sants. She grew up surrounded by books and songs, and has always had her head in the clouds!
She studied illustration at Escola de la Dona, in Barcelona, and later at École Duperré, in Paris. She has also learned on her own over the years. In 2021, after years working in the social arena, she decided to become a professional illustrator.
She draws inspiration from daily life, the bustle and crowds, the balconies and window of her city, and anywhere unnoticed yet extraordinary things happen.
El Contagi (Meraki), her first book as the sole author, won the Térmens Picture Book Award.
Project
During her creative residency at Faberllull Olot, organised by Institut Ramon Llull, she will be working on a children’s picture book for Slovenian publishers Zalozba Hart, written by Barbara Hanus.
