Bio

Laia Baldevey is an illustrator from the Maresme region who, after getting a degree in Fine Arts, began her career in animation, first working in 3D animation and later as a concept artist. Over the years, she has developed a very personal style that flows between her training in traditional technique and adaptation to today’s digital media.

She is known for drawing fantasy creatures, from local stories and legends (Mitologia dels Països Catalans, Efadós, 2022), but she has also illustrated works for various publishers of fantasy literature, music groups and other media.

Project

At Faberllull, Laia Baldevey will be illustrating a text for Italian publisher Camelozampa based on the antagonists from Perrault’s classic stories presented for children today using irony and humour to create a whole new story.
