Bio

Zeina Shahla - journalist and independent researcher from Syria. She works as an editor and journalist for a number of local, Arab and international websites, and writes on social, cultural and environmental issues. Now she is the editor of Environment section in Raseef22, one of the biggest independent media outlets in the Arab world.

She also has many research papers published with a number of Arab institutions, specifically dealing with cultural topics related to intangible heritage.

In 2023, she started her own cultural project, "Turath Masmou3" or "Audible Heritage", a podcast about culture and heritage. She produced two seasons, along with regular content about the Syrian intangible cultural heritage, believing in the importance of focusing on it especially in the aftermath of the brutal conflict her country suffered from.
