Bio
Irene Solà (Malla, Spain, 1990) has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and a Masters in Literature, Film and Visual Culture from Sussex University. She has published the novel Els dics (L’Altra Editorial, Premio Documenta 2017) and the book of poems Bèstia (Galerada Edicions, 2012), translated into English (Shearsman Books, 2017), Italian (Italic Pequod, 2020) and Spanish (Bella Vasovia, 2022). Her fist novel Els dics was awarded with the Documenta Prize 2017 (L’Altra Editorial, 2018) and Canto jo i la muntanya balla was recipient of the award Llibres Anagrama 2019, has been translated into more than twenty-five languages and was awarded with the European Union Prize for Literature. Et vaig donar ulls i vas mirar les tenebres (Anagrama, 2023) is her last novel.
Project
During the translators’ seminar of Et vaig donar ulls i vas mirar les tenebres she will get to know them closely and share time with them and try to solve the doubts of their ongoing translations. She will also make them part of her research process and the sources of inspiration of the novel itself.
