Karoliina Loimaala (she/her) is a Finnish choreographer, performer, and dance teacher. She is based between Helsinki and Torino. She is drawn by materiality of things, and works with poetry, varied mental states, and specific sites inherently in her practice. In her latest works she has choreographed an immersive performance from a bug’s perspective (Laulava maa), played yarn and poetry in a gallery space (GARNNN), inhabited a tire hotel and a bunker feeling-with crude oil (ÖLJEKT) and made a one-on-one meditative trip Flower Bath. She has graduated from University of Arts Helsinki (2020) and from P.A.R.T.S. (2016) in Brussels.


She will participate in the Visiting Artist Program of the Sismògraf Festival, meeting with Catalan artists and programmers.
