Project

She will participate in a meeting of translators who adapt Irene Solà's novel to several different languages.

The five days at Faberllull Olot thanks to Institut Ramon Llull were very fruitful and really helped us carry out our work. Translating is a very solitary profession and getting to share and have this experience together was very healthy. We were lucky that everyone in the group got on well and I think we will keep up the friendships we made during this residency.

Meeting with the author was very positive, as she took us into her world and we got a better understanding of the book and all the details of the story. Together, we were able to answer our questions, clarify things that were pending and discuss our translations. And doing all this where Irene Solà’s books take place really helped us immerse ourselves in her world. Plus, the conferences on Catalan literature opened up new paths for us. We’re leaving here with lots of information we can explore and work with in the future. Our conversations, naturally, focused on books and literature, and that was surely enriching for each of us.

Plus, the welcome we got from the Faberllull residence was so warm. There was always someone there to help and everything was very well organised. I have to highlight the attention to detail in all the aspects related to IRL and, above all, how friendly and sweet Pepa and Andreu were. It was a very rich experience, both personally and professionally. The Faberllull residencies are an excellent platform for anyone who wants to develop their work and also a great way to promote meet-ups and share cultures and knowledge.
