Bio

Laima Baumane is journalist, PR specialist and overall a creative person. She has worked in television and journalism for several years. At the moment she works in the field of public relations. Now her main goal is to write a lot and research everything necessary for the development of her master's thesis, as she is on track for a second master's degree - in writing studies. Previous degrees gained in political science and journalism. The topic of her master's thesis is about travel literature. The inspiration for this work came from a native Latvian author who lived in Spain for a long time. Laima also hopes to write a book in the near future.

Project

During her stay at Faber, she will work on researching and writing her master's thesis. Since the work is related to travel literature and Spain is one of the countries of activity of the researched source texts, it will provide her with additional necessary knowledge to contribute to the creation of the work.

The topic of the master's thesis is "The diversity and popularity of travel literature in Latvian culture". For its development, several source texts are related to Spain and its culture. She will also create the creative part related to travel documentation in writing.
