Bio
Founder and project leader of Turtlestitch (TS). TS builds on the comprehensive, graphical programming environment Snap! What started as an artistic experiment together with a fashion designer has become an active educational community-platform that combines programming and machine embroidery. Today, it is used by learners and educators from a wide range of backgrounds and skill-levels with a strong prescence of girls and women. TurtleStitch is developed by Andrea and the lead programmer Michael Aschauer.
I have worked on numerous artistic and educational internet projects since the late 1990s. I am an artist and media developer with many years of experience in developing open source software for children and adults. I currently work for the Vienna University Children's office, where I
develop media use programmes for children and young people and implements innovative media education concepts.
Project
We will meet in Faberllull Olot a passionate group of teachers, designers and creators of educational tools from around the world to promote these creative learnings in educational programming and robotics. Many of us already share projects during the year, from distant locations, enjoying the technologies that allow us to work remotely and asynchronously, but the personal and intensive meeting that Faberllull Olot offers us is an invaluable gift.
