Collective residencies / Hackathon: cinema residency for young talents / Olot

DAVID ALESINA PUGES

From Thursday, 1 February 2024 to Wednesday, 14 February 2024

Bio

David Alesina Pugés is a director, photographer, and assistant director based in Barcelona. After graduating in Biology, he decided to pursue his artistic interests studying Photojournalism (IEFC), Creative Documentary (CFD), and a Master's in Film Direction at ESCAC, while working as a teacher for young and adult individuals at risk of social exclusion.

His master's final project, the short film "Anastatica" (2023), co-produced with ESCAC, participated in the second edition of the "Residència Connecta" in Mallorca, organized by Faberllull and Cinema lliure. Currently, Anastatica continues to collect awards (Equinoxio '23, Punto Final '23) and selections (FiCCALI '23, Maniatic '23) at national and international festivals.

At present, David combines his job as director and AD in fiction and music videos while developing more personal projects that will soon come to light.

Project

During my stay at Faberllull, I will have the opportunity to be a resident at Hackató, an international film residency designed to foster the talent of young creators.

In this intensive experience, we will work hand in hand with all the residents, starting from a script, to collectively tackle all the stages of the filmmaking process: from the pre-production phase to production and post-production.

With the daily accompaniment of a mentor who will guide us throughout the process and two masterclasses given by industry professionals, we will work together to create an audiovisual piece: a short film that will capture our vision and creativity in a unique way.
