Bio

Actress (Institut del Teatre, 2021) and psychologist by training (UAB, 2018), entered the world of music in 2017, competing in author song contests. Almost instinctively, self-taught, she begins to compose his songs, relying on the words and the interpretation of his verses. Winner of numerous accolades, Lia Sampai publishes her first album "La Fada Ignorant" in 2019, the result of the award she won at the Andorran FI Songwriter Competition in 2018. It was to record this first work, which Lia Sampai starts working with Adrià Pagès, guitarist and composer, with whom they have also published a second album in 2021, called "Amagatalls de llum" (Segel Microscopi). Today she is preparing a third work, where she will talk about the Terres de l'Ebre; cradle of the singer-songwriter's experiences that are always the seed of her songs.

Project

During the stay, I want to create Lia Sampai's third album: compose the songs and arrangements for the new album that will talk about the lands of the Ebro. I also want to spend time preparing the image and video clips that will accompany the project. Here is a brief description of how I imagine the third album: A FRAGILE DELTA The lands of the Ebro: a territory, a political space, a speech. A bathed land, rich and fertile, diverse in life, taste and speech. Often silenced, still forgotten, too long lost. For Lia Sampai, the lands of the Ebro are home and refuge, cradle of songs that relive the landscape of her childhood and youth. A Delta that is for her a source of inspiration, a place to meet and reconnect with her roots, tradition and her own voice. A Spanish voice, speaking from the south that now wants to be heard with this third work to claim and celebrate this treasure of our country. Lia Sampai's next album, accompanied by Adrià Pagès, tells us about the lands of the Ebro in their entirety: from their natural beauty to their social and political abandonment, all through the singer-songwriter's own experiences.
