Bio

Clara Fiol (1995, singer and writer). She studied a professional degree in classical dance at the conservatory of Mallorca and a superior degree in jazz singing at Taller de músics, in Barcelona. She also studied a humanities degree (UPF and UOC). She is part of MARALA, a vocal trio of original songs that fearlessly honors and trashes roots music.

In 2018 she published Silueta, and the poetry book Miloques i rabasses (Documenta Balear). In 2021 she published Còrpora (AdiA Edicions), a second book of poems. With Marala she has published A trenc d'alba (u98, 2020) and Jota de morir (Propaganda pel fet, 2022), awarded as best album of the year according to the Enderrock and Carles Santos awards.

In 2018 she received the Enderrock prize as a Balearic revelation artist and in 2019, the 31 de desembre Bartomeu Rosselló Pòrcel prize.

She is currently working on the creation of the project "CRUI" (OMAC) and on the script for the series Temperatures sense canvis with Joan Tomàs Martínez.

Project

On my stay at Faber I will work, together with Joan Tomàs Martínez, on the revision of the script for Temperatures sense canvis, which is one of the projects selected for the "incubadora de series" of the Serializados Kick festival.

It is a six-chapter satire that points out and ironizes the problems of tourism. It does so with the help of three eccentric, misfit protagonists who suffer the consequences of gentrification and climate change. Three key of the series: Feminism, irony and irreverence.

It is a project with an original idea by Joan Tomàs Martínez in which we have worked together since December 2022. We want to review the six chapters, which are in a very pristine state, and take into account the advice received in the mentorships offered by the Serielizados Kick project.
