Bio

She holds a degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the UAB and in Communication from the UPF. She completed her artistic training at the Col·legi del Teatre de Barcelona. She is a member of the Tinta Negra collective, a movement of Afro-descendant creatives who strive to ensure the representation and visibility of the black community in Catalonia. As an actress, she made her debut in Fam, a monologue written by Najat El Hachmi and directed by Ester Nadal. She currently performs as an actress in Assaig sobre la ceguesa, the most emblematic work of the Nobel Prize winner José Saramago, a bilingual co-production between the Teatre Nacional São João and the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya.

Project

I will be working on the project titled Beba, together with Arántzazu Ruiz. BEBA (11) just wants to be a "normal" little girl. In the Igualada of 1996, being "normal" was synonymous with being white, having straight hair and having a mother who would stay home and prepare her bag for extracurricular activities. Beba is angry at her own existence and doesn't understand why. This is a personal and human story that aims to offer a point of reference to all women of African descent who live in Catalonia.
