From Thursday, 9 March 2023 to Friday, 17 March 2023
Bio
Krisztina is a literary translator who translates from English, French, Spanish and Catalan. Mother of three dangerous but charming adolescents, she is an amateur of life of the passing seasons, el mar i la muntanya. Her history PhD thesis focused on history and memory in the myth of Mequinensa as pictured by Jesús Moncada. She enjoys very much listening to stories told by people, places, pictures, fotos, novels and poetry. She lived, studied and worked in Hungary (Várpalota, Balatonfüred, Pécs, Budapest, Veszprém), France (Paris), Scotland (Glasgow), Spain (Barcelona, Olot). Her actual place of residence is Veszprém, Europe's Cultural Capital 2023.
Project
We are four translators who will work on the translation of contemporary Catalan poetry to Hungarian. We would like to put together a lively, flavorous collection of young Catalan poets' works (approx. 7-8) and publish it in Hungary. We have a vice-versa project too, we arrive to Olot with a bunch of Hungarian poetry in hand translated to Catalan and in the workshops of Olot we would like to polish the final versions together with the poets in person who will pay visit, each for a day or two.
