Project

Geocreativity, artistic practices and landscape. The aim is to work on the text of a book about the research of geocreativity in the territory based on artistic practices that help bring reflection and discourse to the geographical narrative. In addition to writing the material for the book, the aim is also to undertake research on this subject in Andorra, a place whose landscape—due to its own exceptional nature and tourist stereotypes—has excellent potential.

Pyrenean summer immersion

The stay at Faber Andorra has allowed me to get to know the Andorran territory and culture up close. It has been a progressive immersion that, from the first to the last day, has allowed me to collect a variety of information about this border country nestled in the axial Pyrenees. Thanks to the complicity and availability of the person in charge of the program, Meritxell Blanco, I was able to access key informants, learn about spaces, visit museums, compare opinions, etc.

On the other hand, the space of the residence is very comfortable and suitable for being able to work at your own pace, and an ideal location that has a peaceful environment but at the same time close to everything. In my case, I have combined research work and historical documentation with field work, accompanied by people who have made me see with their own eyes the particularities of the Andorran landscape.

In the intersection between landscape and art, the current exhibition "Notes of the Anthropocene" has been very appropriate, which has allowed me to participate with a conference and get to know local artists. In the same vein, I have met with the organizers of the Andorra Land Art festival that will be held next October and that I hope to be able to participate in as well. Finally, I also met the organizer of Art Camp Andorra, which was held this summer.

With regard to the creation of landscape values, I have worked from the map of the national strategy in the horizon 2035, contrasting it with agents of the territory, who have allowed me to know the radical transformation of a rural environment of mountain in a record and unprecedented time. This scenario is what I will continue to work on, in the juxtaposition of the challenges that emanate at the level of country building.

The stay at Faber Andorra is highly recommended and has been very beneficial for tackling common projects, networking research proposals and sharing common territorial strategies crossed by a shared culture. I have experienced it as the act of planting a seed and watering it: something fertile will come out of it.
